Vox AC30 Output Transformer suitable for vintage AC30 or AC30HW

AC30 OUTPUT TRANSFORMER

Physical Installation
Vintage AC30 – The OTV30 output transformer will fit exactly into a vintage AC30. Remove the end bell that has the wires going through and install the transformer exactly like the original.

Electrical Connection
Again, install the output transformer exactly as the original. Connect the Yellow and White primary wires separately to pin 7 of each pair of the EL84 output valves. Connect the Red primary to the filter capacitor that also connects to the choke and pin 8 of the GZ34 rectifier valve. The Black secondary wire goes to the ground connection on the speaker connection terminal strip. The Blue secondary wire is the 16 ohm tap and the Green secondary wire is the 8 ohm tap. The Green wire is usually the connected to the upper section of the speaker terminal strip and the Blue is the connected to the lower section.

In vintage AC30s, the two (blue or silver frame AlNiCo) speakers are 8 ohms each and connected in series for a total of 16 ohms.
